We live in an era in which technology is not just a support tool, but a structuring element of new ways of teaching, learning and living in society. This e-book brings together a collection of reflections and experiences that illustrate how education reinvents itself amid the challenges and possibilities of the digital world. The book begins with an essential discussion about education and the digital world, highlighting the importance of forming conscious, critical and responsible digital citizens. In times of hyper-connectivity, understanding the limits and potential of the internet is a fundamental step towards building safe and ethical digital citizenship. Next, we explore artificial intelligence in distance learning (EAD), highlighting how this technology can expand the reach and effectiveness of pedagogical practices, making them more personalized, interactive and inclusive. Multimedia resources are gaining ground as central elements of contemporary education, offering new languages and formats that engage with students' interests, making learning more meaningful and motivating. Still from this innovative perspective, we address active methodologies in Physical Education classes, with an emphasis on elementary school – final years. These strategies promote greater student protagonism, encouraging collaborative work, critical thinking and physical and intellectual engagement.
Another chapter is dedicated to gamification in education, a resource that has been transforming the way students engage with school content, by associating learning with playful and challenging elements typical of games.
Finally, we present a case study on the use of media and engagement strategies in the teaching of Portuguese Language and Mathematics, focusing on the experience of CEPI Parque dos Buritis. This report demonstrates, in practice, how the integration of different technological resources can enrich the teaching-learning process, respecting the reality and context of each school.
