This article aimed to analyze the main implications of emotional intelligence in student learning in basic education, through bibliographic, descriptive, and qualitative research. During the research, it was found that emotional intelligence directly interferes with the learning process, influencing essential factors directly related to school performance, such as motivation, attention, persistence, and interpersonal relationships. When students can recognize and manage their emotions, they tend to cope better with challenges, frustrations, and stressful situations, remaining motivated and engaged in school activities. Conversely, difficulties in emotional control can generate anxiety, demotivation, low self-esteem, and concentration problems, compromising knowledge acquisition. Therefore, this work emphasizes that emotional intelligence is a fundamental and strategic element to be developed throughout basic education, as it impacts learning both positively and negatively, depending on the student's ability to understand and regulate their emotions during the school year.
