Abstract

This article aimed to investigate English teachers' reflections on motivation, a complex subject that has been growing in the field of language teaching and learning (Dörnyei, 2009). In this work, the goal is to present and analyze the reflections of three English teachers, who work in three different contexts, on the motivational aspects present in their teaching context. To understand the phenomenon in question, the teachers answered a questionnaire, and the data from this research instrument were analyzed using a qualitative approach. The data collected in the research reveal that teachers need to pay attention to their behavior and attitudes in the classroom in order to promote motivation. They should show enthusiasm and commit to their students' learning success. Additionally, they should modify and adapt their lessons to make them more engaging and also connect them to their students' reality.
