Abstract

Alcoholism is considered a chronic disease that has been much analyzed by researchers and scholars for its negative impacts on the lives of people who physically and mentally depend on alcohol, its consumption being motivated by several factors such as genetics, social, psychological factors, environmental factors and health health. However, not all alcohol consumption is considered alcoholism. In order to be considered alcoholism, there must be an excessive and compulsive consumption of alcohol, which in turn affects the individual's life in their social, family and professional environment.
