EVALUATION OF THE IMPACT OF THE IMPLEMENTING A PRE- HOSPITAL CARE SYSTEM ON THE MORTALITY FROM ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION IN THE 10TH HEALTH REGION - CASCAVEL

Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In this context, a retrospective and ecological study was conducted to assess the impact of implementing a Pre-Hospital Care System on mortality rate due to Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) in the 10th Health Region - Cascavel, using secondary data from the Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS) available in DATASUS from 2008 to 2020. The mortality rates for AMI decreased over the course of the study, while the in-hospital mortality rate and hospitalizations showed a significant increase. Thus, the results suggest that pre-hospital care plays a crucial role in the healthcare system and highlights the importance of investments in this service to improve clinical outcomes.
