This article presents a proposal for teaching Industrial Control by combining Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning. In the initial stage, problems involving tank level, temperature, and systems with time delay were used to contextualize classical analysis and design tools. In the integrative stage, students worked in groups to develop a tank-level control system in a virtual environment using Factory I/O and CODESYS, implementing a controller and iteratively assessing its performance. The experience suggests that contextualized projects can connect classical control concepts with industrial automation practice.
