Introduction: The vaccination room is a strategic space for health promotion and disease prevention, but it involves risks that can compromise patient safety, such as immunization errors, failures in the storage of immunobiologicals, and inadequacies in the work process. Objective: To identify nursing care aimed at patient safety in the vaccination room, list the risks related to the lack of patient safety, and highlight the difficulties faced by nurses in complying with patient safety policies in the vaccination room. Materials and Methods: This is a narrative literature review study, developed from consultation of scientific articles, manuals, protocols, ordinances, laws, guidelines, theses, and books published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The search was conducted in databases such as SciELO, LILACS, Google Scholar, the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, Fiocruz, and ANVISA. Results: The research analysis revealed that patient safety in the vaccination room depends on a set of care practices performed by the nurse, and that professional qualification and standardization of processes significantly reduce errors and promote safe practices. Conclusion: Nursing care in the vaccination room contributes to patient safety through a multidimensional approach that involves correct identification, structured communication, prevention of medication errors, and strict adherence to hand hygiene. It serves as the cornerstone of quality care, strengthening public trust in health programs.
