Introduction: The vaccination room is a strategic space for promoting health and preventing disease; however, it involves risks that can compromise patient safety, such as immunization errors, failures in the conservation of immunobiologicals, and inadequacies in the work process. Objective: To identify nursing care focused on patient safety in the vaccination room, to enumerate the risks related to lack of patient safety, and to highlight the difficulties encountered by nurses in complying with the patient safety policy in the vaccination room. Materials and Methods: This is a narrative literature review study, based on consultation of scientific articles, manuals, protocols, ordinances, laws, guidelines, theses, and books published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The search was conducted in databases such as SciELO, LILACS, Google Scholar, the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, Fiocruz, and Anvisa. Results: The research analysis revealed that patient safety in the vaccination room depends on a set of care practices performed by the nurse, and that professional qualification and standardization of processes significantly reduce risks and promote safe practices. Conclusion: Nursing care in the vaccination room contributes to patient safety through a multidimensional approach, involving correct identification, structured communication, prevention of medication errors, and strict adherence to hand hygiene. It is a cornerstone for quality care, strengthening public confidence in health programs.
