This article aimed to analyze the importance of entrepreneurship in the training of dental surgeons, highlighting how the development of entrepreneurial competencies contributes to professional success and the sustainability of dental practices. The research, based on a narrative literature review, reveals a lack of content related to management, administration, and marketing in Dentistry programs, which have traditionally focused on technical and clinical training. This educational gap has hindered entry into the job market and the efficient management of dental offices, especially among recent graduates. The National Curriculum Guidelines emphasize the need to train professionals capable of acting as managers, leaders, and entrepreneurs. The reviewed studies show that the inclusion of disciplines and methodologies related to entrepreneurship — such as management simulations and leadership practices — fosters the development of students’ autonomy, self-confidence, and strategic vision. It is concluded that entrepreneurship is an essential competence in contemporary dental education and should be effectively integrated into undergraduate curricula to prepare more complete, innovative professionals capable of facing the challenges of the modern market.
