This article aimed to highlight the significant impact of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination on reducing viral infection, precancerous lesions, and cervical cancer. Studies conducted in different countries have shown that the vaccine is effective both in multi-dose and single-dose schedules, providing long-lasting protection even in resource-limited settings. Early vaccination demonstrated a substantial reduction in the incidence of invasive cancer, particularly when implemented through national programs with broad coverage. However, population-level effectiveness depends on community adherence, which may be limited by sociocultural barriers, restricted access to information, and low awareness about HPV. Strategies that include health education, awareness campaigns, and policies adapted to local contexts are essential to overcome these challenges. In summary, HPV vaccination represents the primary measure for cervical cancer prevention, with the potential to significantly reduce its global burden, provided that coverage and adherence are expanded.
