Contemporary dentistry is constantly changing, keeping pace with scientific, technological, and social innovations that directly impact the way we understand and care for oral health. This dynamic environment demands that professionals practice practices that combine up-to-date scientific knowledge, solid clinical skills, and effective preventive measures, ensuring comprehensive, humane, and effective patient care.
It is in this context that the e-book "Integrated Dentistry: From Diagnosis to Prevention and Clinical Management" emerges, the result of a collective effort to bring together pertinent discussions, critical analyses, and evidence-based reflections. The book aims to delve deeper into current debates in dentistry while also providing support for academic training and professional practice at different levels.
The material presented here was compiled from literature reviews, scientific studies, and clinical experiences, providing the reader with a comprehensive and integrated view of the multiple dimensions of dental care. Each chapter reflects not only methodological rigor and scientific clarity, but also a commitment to connecting with the real needs of professional practice, making the content useful for both students in training and for dentists and other healthcare professionals.
The topics covered range from highly prevalent clinical conditions, such as dental trauma and periodontal changes in patients with veneers, to preventive and educational issues, such as oral health promotion within the Family Health Strategy and multidisciplinary work in primary care. The work also addresses specific and emerging challenges, such as the impact of chlorinated water on dental structure, as well as compensatory strategies applied in complex malocclusion cases.
More than a collection of isolated chapters, this e-book represents a tool for integrating knowledge, in which science is presented as an instrument of social and clinical transformation. The diversity of approaches reflects the dynamic nature of dentistry and the constant need for updating and interdisciplinary dialogue, fundamental to strengthening an ethical, innovative, and socially committed practice.
Therefore, we invite the reader to delve into the reflections proposed in this work, recognizing that dentistry today and in the future requires critical professionals who are prepared and open to continuous learning. May this material inspire new research, encourage safer and more humane practices, and contribute to the consolidation of a dentistry increasingly integrated with the needs of society.
Sincerely,
