According to Regulatory Standard 10, NR-10 (2004), temporary grounding is defined as an operational procedure to define a standard and ensure uniformity and safety in execution. It is an electrical safety measure that consists of establishing a safe electrical connection between the power grid and the ground, using specific cables and devices. This connection to the ground causes a controlled dissipation of the electrical current, preventing serious accidents such as electric shock and burns. Therefore, it is extremely important to follow all standards and procedures to perform this activity, as the degree of risk is extremely high and may put the life and physical integrity of the professional performing the activity at risk. This present work aimed to adopt all control measures to perform this activity, such as present risks, prerequisites, inspections of equipment and/or tools, necessary PPE, and safety and environmental recommendations. To obtain the results regarding this activity presented in this article, a checklist was carried out of all the steps of this process, such as preparation of the activity, verification of the conditions of the equipment/tools that were used, existing risks and preservation of the environment. And with this, a procedure to be followed for carrying out this activity was addressed, where all the steps, risks, equipment, preparation of the APR, minimum number of employees to carry out the activity and ensure correct de-energization were described. Thus ensuring total safety in carrying out the activity, the physical integrity of the performers and compliance with all the procedures and standards established by NR10:2004.
