Gender-based violence is a structural problem that takes on new configurations in the digital age, such as the practice of revenge pornography, characterized by the non-consensual dissemination of intimate images with the aim of humiliating and subjugating victims, mostly women. This paper analyzes revenge pornography as a contemporary form of gender-based violence, highlighting its social, psychological, and legal impacts in the Brazilian context. The research is justified by the need to understand and address this practice, which reflects structural inequalities and reinforces patriarchal stigmas. The study's general objective is to analyze revenge pornography from the perspective of gender-based violence, addressing its causes, effects, and legal treatment in Brazil. To this end, it adopts a qualitative methodology, based on bibliographic and documentary research. The structure of the paper includes: a historical and social contextualization of violence against women in Brazil; the characterization of revenge pornography and its impacts; and the analysis of Brazilian legislation, with emphasis on Law No. 13,718/2018 and the Internet Civil Rights Framework. It is concluded that, although there are legislative advances, the effectiveness in combating revenge pornography requires integrated actions between the legal system, public policies and cultural changes that promote gender equality and the protection of women's rights.
