The use of electronic cigarettes (vapes) has gained popularity as an alternative to conventional tobacco consumption, especially among younger individuals. However, their impact on oral health has raised increasing concerns. This study aims to analyze and discuss the main oral lesions associated with the use of electronic cigarettes, based on recent scientific evidence. The reviewed research suggests a link between the use of these devices and the development of periodontal diseases, changes in oral flora, a higher likelihood of cavities, as well as greater vulnerability to potentially malignant lesions and oral cancer. The conclusion is that, despite their reputation as a less harmful product, electronic cigarettes present considerable risks to oral health and require greater attention from dental professionals, who play an important role in guiding and reducing tobacco use among their patients.
