This study aimed to demonstrate the benefits of resistance training on the quality of life of adolescents and young people, highlighting its contribution to healthy growth, health maintenance, and prevention of complications resulting from a sedentary lifestyle. This is a bibliographic research based on articles published between 2020 and 2025, available in Portuguese and accessed through Google Scholar. The selection of studies followed the PRISMA model criteria. Initially, 263 articles were identified, of which only 4 met the inclusion criteria. The analysis revealed that resistance training promotes significant gains in muscle strength, bone density, body composition, self-esteem, and mental health in adolescents. In addition, the essential role of the Physical Education professional in prescribing safe and effective exercises is highlighted, also contributing to motivation, discipline, and the adoption of an active lifestyle. It is concluded that, when well guided, resistance training is an effective strategy in combating youth sedentary lifestyle, being capable of generating lasting physical, emotional, and social benefits. Therefore, it is recommended to implement structured and supervised programs that respect the needs and particularities of this age group.
