This work aimed to describe Sheehan's Syndrome, based on works published since 2000. This is a qualitative study, an integrative review of the literature, which was based on works published in the last 20 years. The following databases were used: National Center for Biotechnology Information and National Library of Medicine - (PUBMED), Latin American Health Sciences Literature - (LILACS), Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Scientific Electronic Library Online - (SciELO). The inclusion criteria were to search for publications carried out in the last 23 years (2001-2024), published in English and Portuguese. Those that were not freely available, that addressed duplicate topics, that were in line with the theme proposed by the work or that the descriptors did not cover the research proposal were excluded. To compose the final result 13 articles were selected, 5 of which report on changes in imaging/laboratory exams, 4 on socioeconomic aspects/epidemiology, 6 on risk factors, 5 on pathophysiology, 4 address the symptoms and 2 present treatment data. This literature review demonstrates that the clinical, epidemiological, laboratory and pathophysiological aspects of Sheehan's Syndrome are variable, depending on the level of tissue destruction of the pituitary gland, and it can present in an acute or chronic form. In this way, early diagnosis will positively impact the quality of life of affected patients and reduce mortality from Sheehan Syndrome.
