Based on the cultural changes of the early 21st century related to technologies and the COVID-19 pandemic, and taking as a reference the Theory of Social Representation (Moscovici, 1978), and the thoughts of Bourdieu (1997), we seek to unveil the current state of school Physical Education as a curricular discipline and area of knowledge, describing the representations of students and teachers in theses published in the last 10 years. A systematic review was carried out in the CAPES Theses and Dissertations Bank, with the descriptors “social representations” and “School Physical Education”, 57 theses were listed. Those theses that relate to School Physical Education and Social Representations were selected by reading the titles, totaling 5 theses. The results indicate the central and peripheral nucleus, increasing the level of knowledge in the area about how it is configured for these subjects, instigating reflections for new research, especially after the COVID 19.
