Abstract

This article explores the use of educational technologies and active methodologies in early childhood education, focusing on the creation of didactic strategies that foster citizenship competencies. In an educational context that demands technological advancements and a critical and participatory formation of individuals, the study presents a practical and innovative approach to teaching. Through a literature review and the development of multimodal didactic materials tested in early childhood education classrooms, the effectiveness of these strategies was assessed. The results demonstrate that combining technological resources with innovative teaching methods increases student engagement and facilitates the assimilation of concepts related to citizenship. However, the lack of infrastructure and the need for continuous teacher training were identified as significant challenges. It is concluded that, when applied in a planned manner, an innovative didactic approach can significantly impact early childhood education, promoting the holistic development of children and reaffirming the need for educational policies that prioritize teacher training and the use of technology.
