Urban mobility is an essential element for the sustainable development of cities, directly impacting the quality of life of their inhabitants. The increase in urbanization rates, especially in developing countries, has generated serious problems such as traffic congestion and accidents, which require effective public policies and strategic planning. In this context, Curitiba stands out as an example of successful urban planning, with its innovative public transportation system, including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and an extensive network of cycle paths, which promote sustainability and traffic flow. On the other hand, Florianópolis faces challenges arising from population growth and geographical limitations, but has adopted measures to improve mobility, such as the bike-sharing system and the implementation of electric buses. In addition, the construction of the Ring Road seeks to alleviate heavy traffic, especially trucks, improving transport efficiency in the region. Thus, the study of the two cities highlights the differences and similarities in approaches to urban mobility, highlighting the importance of advance planning and the implementation of innovative solutions to promote a more accessible and sustainable city.
