This article aims to report the previous results of the research developed throughout the dissertation, by the master's degree in Mathematics, studied at Educaler University, with the aim of answering the problem “What are the learning difficulties in mathematics, during the Covid-19 pandemic and in the transition to hybrid teaching, in the perception of eighth and ninth grade students, in elementary school at CEPI (Full-Time Education Center) Luis Perillo, in Goiânia?”. After the emergency measure and the implementation of remote teaching, many problems that were little discussed came to light, such as the lack of digital literacy among school management, teachers, students, mothers, fathers, guardians and communities; the unequal distribution of access to the internet and technological devices; the influence of fake news, false information and the vulnerability of users on the internet; drops in learning rates; and others. The purpose of this text is to specifically discuss what instant messaging applications (Whatsapp, email, Instagram and others) and video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and others) are, how they were useful in enabling classes during the remote period and can facilitate dynamics in face-to-face teaching, without distorting it. It was found that even in face-to-face teaching it is possible to use these digital tools and recommend that students interact through them to, for example, form study groups. At the same time, it is important not to use technologies in an illustrative and substitutive way for the teacher.
