Abstract

Maxillofacial fractures are more common in men and between the third and fifth decade, and the most frequent etiology is car and motorcycle accidents. Causing fractures and mandibular sequelae that are difficult to resolve in the field of maxillofacial surgery, its components make its reduction not only anatomical, but also functional. The purpose of this article is to describe a clinical case of care for mandible fracture (FM). With the accomplishment of this work, it was possible to conclude that Diagnosis, management and multidisciplinary treatment of mandibular fractures is extremely important to prevent the appearance of post-surgical treatment sequelae with osteosynthesis elements and deliver realistic expectations to the patient regarding the treatment result. Thus confirming the importance of studying this pathology for the development of preventive measures aimed at the groups most susceptible to this etiology, as well as the development of techniques with higher success rates in the treatment of mandibular fractures.
