The reduction of the age of criminal responsibility in Brazil is a topic of great legal and social relevance, especially in light of the increase in juvenile delinquency and public security debates. This article aims to critically analyze the proposal to reduce the age of criminal responsibility in Brazil, evaluating its effectiveness and its legal, social, and constitutional implications. Regarding the methodology, the deductive method was used during the investigation phase; the Cartesian method was employed in the data processing phase; and the inductive logical basis was applied in the presentation of the results. Bibliographic and documentary research techniques were used through the analysis of legislation, doctrine, and academic studies. It was concluded that reducing the age of criminal responsibility is not an effective solution to juvenile delinquency, making it necessary to strengthen public policies focused on education, social inclusion, and the effectiveness of socio-educational measures established by the Child and Adolescent Statute.
