This article sought to investigate one of the greatest challenges currently present in large urban centers: the concern for road safety, given that land travel in the contemporary scenario is carried out through an intense flow of vehicles. The state of Amazonas, regarding traffic problems, presents a different context from other states in the federation, since geographical, urban, and social issues make traffic enforcement and the protection of individuals even more challenging. Thus, it is necessary for public security agencies to understand the peculiarities of traffic in the state of Amazonas, efficiently developing policies capable of disseminating traffic education as a fundamental tool for preventing traffic offenses. More than just presenting traffic rules, educating for traffic means redefining how people behave when participating in the effective functioning of road traffic. Therefore, investigating how traffic education, together with other preventive actions developed by the Military Police of Amazonas, is essential to understanding its effects on reducing infractions, preventing accidents, and promoting safer and more sustainable urban mobility. The focus on preventive policing, combined with education, stands out as a complementary strategy to repression, highlighting itself as an indispensable instrument for building a more humane and safe traffic environment for all
