This article sought to propose a solution that addresses a gap related to deficiency in maintenance procedures in electrical panels. This deficiency, caused mainly by inefficient monitoring of electrical panels, can result in carelessness regarding open doors and inadequate sealing, generating serious consequences for the process. The study collected data related to a significant financial impact recorded in a mining company, which, due to the aforementioned deficiency, had its production interrupted for more than 34 hours. Therefore, the project presented a solution that sought to involve automation and control equipment and components already existing in the panels of this mining company, such as PLC, HMI and mechanical sensors. Furthermore, the necessary procedures for this implementation to be successful were detailed, since with the positive results in the tests carried out, it was predicted that the solution would add a significant mitigation of the financial and operational impact to the entire mining company's process, in addition to compliance with the NR-12 standard, which refers to work safety in machines and equipment.
