Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases represent one of the main public health challenges in the modern era, with significant impacts on quality of life and global mortality. This article discusses the challenges and strategies in preventing these diseases, highlighting the importance of comprehensive and innovative approaches. The growing prevalence of risk factors, such as hypertension, smoking, obesity and diabetes, which contribute to the increase in cardiovascular diseases, is discussed. Given this scenario, preventive strategies are explored, including the promotion of healthy lifestyles, public education, health policies, access to medical care and advanced technologies. Precision medicine emerges as a promising tool for identifying individual risks, allowing interventions personalized based on genetic traits and biomarkers. In addition, the multidisciplinary approach is emphasized, demonstrating the importance of collaboration between health professionals, researchers and governments to implement effective prevention strategies. The advancement of information and communication technologies offers opportunities for the dissemination of health information and the promotion of positive behavioral changes. In this context, clinical research plays a key role in evaluating the effectiveness of preventive interventions, as well as in identifying innovative therapies . Clinical and pre-clinical studies investigating targeted therapies, immunotherapy and combined approaches for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases are highlighted. Finally, the integration of sound health policies, continuing public education, and equitable access to health care are presented as crucial strategies for addressing the challenges of cardiovascular disease in the modern era.
