Abstract

Objective: To review potential problems with Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). Literature review: To review the potential problems of Proton Pump inhibitors (IBPs). Bibliographic review: It is understood that the indiscriminate use of IBPs, entail serious health problems, such as the decrease in the absorption of nutrients due to the reduction in gastric acidity that decreases the absorption of vitamin B12; reduction in the absorption of calcium in which by inhibiting the proton pump of the gastric mucosa they also inhibit the proton pump of the osteoclasts Highlighting the precise indications of IBP for the prophylactic use of LAMG effects. IBPs are the most prescribed for the treatment of laryngopharyngeal reflux (RLF) and Gastroesophageal reflux (GER). Final considerations: It is understood that drug-related problems in patients who make indiscriminate use of proton pump inhibitors bring serious health complications to the patient, this problem can be attributed due to prescription errors and self-medication.
