Abstract

 This work aims to bring an analysis of prison relations, making considerations about the contrast between the internal point of view of the prison environment and its rehabilitative possibility and its purpose of resocialization, being directed explorations and criticisms to the resocializing character of the custodial sentence, given the flagrant deficiencies of the Brazilian justice system. To this end, the methodology of bibliographic research was used, in order to promote an examination of the current situation of functioning and effectiveness and adequacy of resocialization measures, in the context of the country's prison system.
