This study conducted a literature review to map and describe the conceptualizations of therapeutic welcoming and bonding in the systemic approach, focusing on their clinical relevance and theoretical foundation. The research was driven by the gap in synthesizing these concepts in light of contemporary scientific paradigms, emphasizing circularity and feedback as central principles of systemic therapy. The objective was to understand psychological welcoming and bonding, identifying practices of empathy, neutrality, and absence of judgment in systemic literature. The methodology involved selecting articles published between 2000 and 2025, indexed in databases such as SciELO, PsycINFO, Web of Science, and Scopus, with inclusion criteria prioritizing studies in Portuguese and Spanish that simultaneously addressed welcoming, bonding, and systemic principles. Works with a strictly reductionist perspective were excluded. Qualitative analysis, performed using NVivo software, resulted in the categorization of meaning units into a narrative synthesis. The findings highlight that systemic welcoming transcends initial reception, creating a safe environment that fosters engagement and trust within the relational system. The therapeutic bond, supported by functional empathy and strategic neutrality, emerges as a collaborative alliance essential for co-constructing solutions aligned with circular interaction patterns. Integration with the systemic tradition underscores the importance of active listening and impartiality in mapping relational dynamics without assigning blame, thereby enhancing clients' agency. This study contributes to a robust theoretical framework, suggesting that the intentional operationalization of welcoming and bonding practices can optimize clinical interventions and pave the way for future research on the effectiveness of systemic therapy across diverse contexts and populations.
