EVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF INSERTION OF INTRACANAL MEDICATION PASTE BASED ON CALCIUM HYDROXIDE - A LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

Calcium hydroxide stands out in the scope of endodontic treatment due to its notorious pharmacological and antimicrobial properties, however, its effectiveness is related to the quality of its insertion. Therefore, the study aims to evaluate the quality of the insertion method using the lens, K-file, easy clean and syringe. To this end, a qualitative and exploratory bibliographical research was carried out using the research platforms: Scielo, Google Scholar and Pubmed, selecting academic works from the period 2010 to 2023, without language restrictions. Therefore, the current study demonstrates its applicability based on the provision of information about the quality of the filling and the aforementioned ways of inserting calcium hydroxide. It is concluded that from the 25 articles analyzed, the lentulo was considered by the majority as the most effective and most commonly used method, however, it was highlighted that there is no specific method that covers the entire canal and meets the wide range of cases.
