In bovine production, the repetition of heat is one of the main causes of indirect economic loss, related to reproductive pathologies and reproductive, nutritional and health management. With that, the gynecological evaluation was created to evaluate abnormalities in the reproductive system, through inspection, palpation, ultrasound, secretion analysis, among other techniques. This work aims to report a case of frequent estrus repetition in a primiparous cow, where the gynecological evaluation was neglected by the producers, delaying the diagnosis of the intrauterine condition. In a property in Cacoal, a TAI procedure was being carried out, where a cow drew attention, as she had gone through several protocols until she managed to have her first pregnancy, and went through new protocols without getting a new pregnancy. During the insemination protocol, an intrauterine anomaly was observed, which by ultrasound evaluated the presence of a foreign mass and the animal was destined for slaughter. The uterus was dissected and a large amount of necrotic and mineralized material was observed inside. According to the animal's history, it was suspected that the masses arose from placental remains retained inside the animal. Retained placenta is a common condition in the herd, occurring in 2-5% of cows. Due to the high bovine physiological resistance, the rapid closure of the cervix associated with primiparous cows and Zebu breeds, it promoted the isolation of the foreign body and the non-presentation of clinical signs. As seen in this work, reproductive pathologies can be avoided through gynecological evaluation, and its negligence can cause direct and indirect economic losses to the cattleman.
