Abstract

People cry out for peace every day because of the violence that prevails in society. This violence reaches high levels all over the world, including Brazil. This situation is faced primarily by the Military Police of the Brazilian States, as these security forces are the front line in preventing and combating insecurity. The Federal Constitution of 1988 provides that Public Security is “a fundamental right, the duty of the State, the right and responsibility of all of us”, therefore, the military police are on the streets of cities and on country roads in order to guarantee this right. However, there has been a noticeable lack of motivation on the part of the troops, since many agents have the feeling of being drying ice. Since laws, human rights and other mechanisms are often favoring crime more than public safety in general. As an example, the custody hearing, practiced since 2016 in the country and which, in turn, has become yet another mechanism in favor of the offender. In this way, this study is relevant, justifying its importance in the face of the Military Police, which no longer support the promotion of criminality.
