Tuberculosis (TB) White Plague or as it is popularly known, tuberculosis emerged on the African continent at least 70,000 years ago, accompanied humans in the evolution and expansion process across the planet, even today considered a threat to health. TB is a chronic granulomatous infectious disease caused by bacteria from the microbacteria group. Although it affects other organs and / or systems, it is an infectious and contagious disease that mainly affects the lungs. Extrapulmonary forms that affect organs other than the lungs are more common among people with HIV, especially those with weakened immune systems. In Brazil, the disease is a serious public health problem with deep social roots. The HIV epidemic and the existence of drug-resistant bacilli complicated the situation. Every year, about 70,000 new cases and about 4,500 deaths from tuberculosis are reported.
