A SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA: PRINCIPAIS INSTRUMENTOS INSTITUCIONAIS E PRESERVAÇÃO DA CRIMINALIDADE

Abstract

There are several factors that can explain the serious crisis that public security in Brazil is going through, characterized by: increased severity and increased crime rates, as the systems present are weak and outdated. The main objective of this study is to conduct a theoretical survey of the main aspects of public security management in Brazil, emphasizing the current status, trends and perspectives. This is a bibliographic search, which means that all information provided here is identified in works such as books, articles, documents or virtual databases. The study is of a descriptive and exploratory type, as it describes the data identified in the bibliographic survey and also discusses the exploration of these data. In the course of our research, we tried to analyze the main causes of crime in Brazilian society today. The results show that, considering that crime is a difficult problem to analyze comprehensively, the formulation of public policies at the national level is a complex task that requires measures in several ways. In addition to public security management issues, research also shows that police, social and political resistance are the factors that most hinder innovation in public security policy methods. The limitation of this research is that it is only conceptual and theoretical, therefore, it is important that future research links these concepts and statistics to empirical case studies to make the point of view more consistent with reality.
