Introduction: The ABDA (Brazilian Association of Attention Deficit) defines attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, a neurobiological disorder, due to dopaminergic dysfunction in certain areas of the brain, such as the prefrontal and limbic region, which lead to symptoms of distraction, impulsivity and disorganization due to genetic causes. This is a disease that appears in childhood and follows the individual throughout his life. Objective: to identify the challenges faced by nurses in monitoring people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in primary health care. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review. We will use the PICO strategy to help us. Results: By searching the database, initially 1,915 articles were found. We then proceeded with the search through the filters, which resulted in 23 articles. Of these, after reading all titles, abstracts and discussions, 10 were used because they met the necessary conditions for their inclusion.
