Abstract

This work aims to analyze shared custody institutes and mediation as ways to resolve family conflicts by pacifying family relationships. In this sense, it is emphasized that families can currently be constituted through various arrangements and that affection is a primordial element in family nuclei. Therefore, it is necessary to think about alternatives for conflict resolution when the end of stable unions or divorce occurs, especially when children remain in the relationship, taking into account that these deserve the attention of both parents in order to safeguard their development and education to the children. Thus, mediation and shared custody are side by side in the search for harmony in the family group, as the members of the family nucleus need to readapt and have maturity and dialogue to make this phase of life less painful and traumatic for all involved.
