Abstract

Myasthenia can lead to severe and chronic disabilities and high mortality rates. If not treated, it can evolve into forms said to be disabling, generating important changes in the motor plates. The objective of this present study is to carry out an epidemiological analysis of cases of Myasthenia Gravis in Brazil during a period of 5 years. An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional collection of elements available in the DATASUS database was carried out from January 2015 to January 2020; analyzing the number of hospitalizations, average hospital stay and mortality rate of the procedure: Myasthenia Gravis (MG). It should be noted that although the disease does not result in high mortality rates, its morbidity generates serious and progressive consequences for its carriers, requiring continuous attention. However, in our country there is a deficient distribution of centers specialized in the treatment of the same, impairing the treatment and follow-up of its carriers.
