Objectives: To identify the evidence available in the literature on the prevalence of RSI and WMSD among dentists. Method: This is an integrative literature review. Searches were carried out using the Boolean descriptors and operators AND and OR, in the PUBMED AND VHL (Virtual Health Library) databases, in English and Portuguese. Results. Searches were carried out in 2 databases where 114 references were found. The removal of duplicates was carried out, 109 titles / abstracts were selected and evaluated with respect to the inclusion criteria, where 84 articles were removed. Twenty articles were selected with the eligibility criteria. In the 20 selected articles, questionnaires were included, relating pain to the surgeon's work and containing their secondary results: gender, working time, age and how many hours worked. Conclusion: Regarding the results, the vast majority of articles report a very high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders, the neck, shoulder, elbow and spine are the most affected areas. Stress is very common among dental surgeons and there is a high number of absences. And that should implement strategies to reduce this stress and make ergonomic interventions in the workplace.
