Zoonoses are a very recurrent problem nowadays, due to the high rate of cases in the leisure region that are the beaches, research is needed on the infection rate of diseases present in the population in these regions. One of these diseases is the geographic bug, which needs more research. Due to this need, a survey was carried out through interviews, aiming to understand the incidence of this parasitosis in baristas who work on the beaches of São Luís, Maranhão, as well as socioeconomic data, investigating the informational level of this group about this disease, in order to understand the seriousness of the parasitosis and how much it affects this population, serving as a basis for socio-educational parameters and prevention of this disease, providing more security in a special way for local baristas, who are being infected daily. Once the interviews were over, it was observed that the informational level is low, but not totally unrelated to this subject, since, although 52% claimed to know, many answers were erroneous about cutaneous larva migrans and everything that involves it, from the treatment contagion, therefore, there is still a lack of health education, so as to reduce the infection in these workers and, finally, the well-being of this population is valued.
