STREET DOCTOR´S OFFICE: BUILDING AN EXPANDED CLINIC WITH HOMELESS PEOPLE AND USERS OF ALCOHOL, CRACK AND OTHER DRUGS

This article presents considerations about the main characteristics of the Offices in the Street as an Expanded Clinic to care Homeless people. The Office in the Street has as its objective the promotion and prevention of health, as well as the rise of the exercise of the rights and duties of citizens out of a charity positioning. This study aims to carry out a research on the exhaustive reading of articles already published, in order to highlight the importance of the Office in the Street as a device for care, shelter, help and support to a population considered invisible in society’s eyes. Method: This is a systematic review of the literature. Then, the texts were separated into six categories: 1. Year and author, 2. Title of the Publication, 3. Name of the Journal, 4. Design and method, 5. Purpose and 6. Summary of Conclusion. Results: We found 45 articles, of which 14 were selected to compose the present review, because they fit the inclusion criteria. The selection analysis was based on a collection of articles from 2012 to September 2022. Conclusion: The aim of the Street Doctor's Office is to promote accessibility to the institutionalized network services, as well as the integral assistance and promotion of social ties for users in situations of social exclusion, allowing a concrete way to exercise our rights and citizenship.
