SEMI-OPEN REGIME: ANALYSIS OF THE CURRENT SITUATION AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

This article seeks to raise the discussion about the semi-open regime of serving sentences in the Brazilian prison system. To this end, a brief explanation is initially presented about the current system of serving sentences in Brazil, which includes closed, semi-open and open regimes. Afterwards, the current scenario of the semi-open regime is analyzed, its characteristics and particularities and, mainly, emphasis is placed on the problems faced. Some alternatives are presented to remedy the problems of the semi-open regime, including the very extinction of the regime and these are also critically analyzed throughout the article so that, finally, it is concluded by presenting positions and possible ways for this great problem of Brazilian society to be resolved. that the prison system is can be treated and bear positive fruit in the near future, fulfilling the main mission of the penal system, which is the rehabilitation of the prisoner.
