NUTRITIONAL INTERVENTIONS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD): A BIBLIOGRAPHY REVIEW

OBJECTIVE: In view of the complexity of the subject, the objective of achieving the importance of the autistic diet and deepening further research and studies on the subject. METHOD: This is a descriptive qualitative bibliographic review, which sought to analyze articles from the years 2011 to 2021 published in the Scielo and Google Scholar databases. RESULTS: 520 articles were found after the search with the data descriptors in Google academic and 13 articles in Scielo, after analysis, 3 articles remained in Scielo and 280 articles published in Google academic, of these, 50 articles were selected and read in full and 10 were used at the subject. From the analyzed articles, it was found that it is not possible to say concretely that some foods improve or worsen the symptoms of ASD. CONCLUSION: The results analyzed and obtained in the articles used were that autistic people present selectivity and food refusal, are resistant to the new and are more likely to develop nutritional deficiencies and deficiencies, for this reason and others, a professional nutritionist must accompany the child in his/her food plan. The diets presented are still not enough to influence their use in all autistic children and adolescents because it is understood that dietary restrictions are harmful to all individuals, in addition to the above, it is necessary to increase and deepen research on this subject, there is a lack of information and the existing ones are not conclusive.
