The preventive measures found in the results, pharmacological and non-pharmacological, are considered according to the risk profile of each patient and the association of both showed efficacy in preventing the disease. It is concluded that VTE in patients after orthopedic surgery is a common and preventable condition, and drug or mechanical prophylactic measures are highly effective and necessary for prevention.
