Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate the potential of Tocantins for the implementation of a Logistics Platform specialized in materials, products and services related to agribusiness chains. Therefore, the characterization of the state and its selected surroundings was made, relating the needs of this platform with the potential of the region in terms of cargo generation, availability of labor and road, rail and airport infrastructure. The study concludes that Tocantins has the basic conditions for implementing a logistics platform, but the decision to implement it and the speed of its development will depend on coordinated and synergistic actions by the private sector and the municipal and state public authorities.
