Abstract

The article aims to analyze the different perspectives that surround the right of transsexuals in the search for recognition through sports. The objective of this study is to demonstrate that there are important factors, such as the logic of gender binary as a social construction and the consequent male domination, which underlie the idea of sports balance. Thus, with an analysis of scientific studies and sports norms, it is clear that there is a search for the inclusion of transsexuals in sports. This recognition, consequently, allows transgender people to be included in society in some way. In this way, the study obtained as a result the analysis of this attempt to include and recognize transsexual athletes in sports competitions, the understanding that there is a movement of sports administration entities to enable the inclusion of transsexual athletes in high performance sports, but that , several times, has its effectiveness blocked by social prejudice.
