THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY MOBILIZATION IN CRITICAL PATIENTS: LITERATURE REVIEW

Early mobilization reduces the duration of mechanical ventilation and aims to interfere as downtime in the bed, causing the patient an answer on the respiratory, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and even psychological level. This study consisted in a bibliographic review carried out through Scholar Google and Scielo databases using the descriptors "early ambulation" ("mobilização precoce") and "critical patient "("paciente crítico"). There were found 144 articles, which after being excluded those who were repeated, those who are not dealt with that subject and those who had been previously published before 2005, there were selected 21. The aim of this review was to determine which the importance of early mobilization in critically ill patients was, and even describe the stasis syndrome in critically ill patients, investigate existing techniques for the realization of early mobilization in critically ill patients; and define the effects of early mobilization in critically ill patients. Through this study it was expected to contribute to the promotion of transformation strategies in reality the care of critically ill patients, through the qualification of care in intensive care units and training of professionals in the interdisciplinary training perspective.
