The present article seeks to present knowledge about the theme people development, because through this management model, the organization can develop competitive advantage by investing in its employees. It is observed in this paper that the development of people can be used to stimulate and prepare employees to assume future positions and responsibilities, based on the training offered by the organization. In view of the above, the objective of this study is to present the importance that the development of people adds to the organization. As a methodology, a case study was carried out with the application of an online questionnaire in a company located in the city of Cruzeiro - SP, in order to analyze and understand the perception of the managers of this organization regarding the theme people development and how a company that pays due attention to this theme can reach a competitive advantage. Through the development of this work it was possible to realize how much the area of people development has provided the organization studied with several improvements and favoring results in its daily routine.
