The participation of nurses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is extremely important, it is essential that they be properly trained to deal with the most extreme situations, such as cardiorespiratory arrest (CRP), and developing actions that allow improvement in the quality and patient prognosis. Considering the seriousness of the problem, the research limited itself to collecting information about the participation of nurses in this event. The article aims to describe the importance of nurses identifying their attributions in a CPA in an in-hospital environment. Electronic consultation was used in databases, VHL (Virtual Health Library), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). They included studies in Portuguese and English, selected protocol and the other documents that are with update criteria as follows American Heart Association, the research is between the years 2012 to 2021. Studies outside the time frame and outside the theme were excluded. We considered 22 publications, among the 42 analyzed, including: protocols, articles, journals and monographs, which were in accordance with the proposed subject. The nurse exerts an influence on these actions, being a critical factor to determine the success of the service, this study made possible the relevance of their work during a cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA), making more research if necessary, to better approach the subject. The nurse, also acting as a leader in this event, assigns responsibilities to him, which makes him stand out in this service.
