This article sought to characterize the trajectory of the rights of children and adolescents and their passage through the Sheltering Services after suffering violence from their parents or guardians, seeking to broaden the questions about advances and mishaps that persist even today with regard to protection as a measure of institutional care for children and adolescents, analyzing the role of the Social Worker in the realization of the rights of children and adolescents victims of this violence. For this, a bibliographic research was carried out based on a qualitative-descriptive approach, using the Statute of the Child and the Adolescent, Federal Law nº 8.069, of July 13, 1990, Law n. 12,010, of 2009, also known as the Family and Community Coexistence Law, among other sources of research. And so it was possible to conclude that with the large contingent of Children and Adolescents with their rights violated within the intra-family environment, the presence of the Social Worker as part of the technical team in the reception services becomes indispensable to this public that is under the responsibility of the power public.
