COVID-19 appeared in the year 2019 and arrived in Brazil in 2020 affecting many people. People got sick, lives were lost, and some did not know how to deal with the loss. Thus, this article aims to analyze how the clinical psychologist can help a person in mourning because of the loss of a family member by COVID-19. Its method is based on a qualitative approach, with a hypothetical-deductive format. A bibliographic survey was made, based on the Periodicals CAPES and Google Scholar platforms. Two studies were found: one on storytelling and the other on cinema therapy. Both showed to be effective, demonstrating that it is possible for the psychologist to help a person in mourning through COVID-19.
