FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND THE BEHAVIOR OF CONSUMERS IN THE NORTHWEST REGION OF PAULISTA

Financial education is an unknown subject for the Brazilian population, as it is considered delicate and not all citizens are interested in financially educating themselves compared to school education. The research aims to assess whether the citizens of the Northwest region of São Paulo have knowledge on the subject, and to characterize the consumer profile. The methodology that will be applied to the research will be mixed qualitative-quantitative methods, with non-probabilistic analysis, with the support of exploratory studies for the development of the research. Convenience sampling will be used in the Northwest of São Paulo in the cities of Álvares Florence, Américo de Campos, Cardoso, Lençóis Paulista, Ouroeste, Parisi, Pontes Gestal, São José do Rio Preto, Valentim Gentil and Votuporanga. Among the results, 81 participants were obtained between the genders and the most varied age groups and to identify the concern with financial education through their consumer behavior.
